Who We Are

What We Believe

We, the people of Upland United Methodist Church, believe in God the Father as creator; in Jesus Christ, his Son, who made the supreme sacrifice for our redemption from sin; and in the Holy Spirit who empowers us.

Our mission is to worship God, make disciples for Jesus Christ, and be empowered by the Holy Spirit for service, all to the glory of God.

We use our gifts to work with members and students alike to minister to the community and the world.

What We Do

Radical Hospitality
The active desire to invite, welcome, receive, and care for those who are strangers so that they find a spiritual home and discover for themselves the unending richness of life Christ.
Passionate Worship
Worship that connects people to God, worship that people enter into with expectancy, and with the anticipation that God desires to speak to them and connect to them.
Intentional Faith Development
Purposeful learning in community that helps the followers of Jesus mature in faith, such as Bible studies, Sunday School, short-term topical studies, and support groups that apply the faith to particular life challenges.
Risk-Taking Mission and Service
Projects, efforts, and work people do to make a positive difference in the lives of others for the purposes of Christ, whether or not they will ever be part of the community of faith.
Extravagant Generosity
Practices of sharing and giving which exceeds all expectations and extend to unexpected measures.

Who We Are

The current building of the Upland United Methodist Church was built in 1904.  Shortly afterwards, "revival Commenced.  The great revival stirred the entire community, there were 350 converts and the meeting ran on for three weeks..."

Over 100 years later, God is again doing a wonderful work in both Upland United Methodist Church and the community at large.

Our congregation is experiencing great growth, spiritually and numerically.

This is a time of changes and transitions, of new birth and rebirth.  It is an exciting time for all of us as we commit to taking the Good News of Jesus to the Upland community and the world.
